Crohns or Colitis... you might need more sleep
Posted by Dave Fuller on
Did you know that not getting enough sleep can put you at more risk of getting Crohn's and Colitis? A new study published in the Journal Gastroenterology found that six months of poor sleep quality was associated with twice the risk of flare ups for Crohns. If you are getting less than 6 hours per day or hear this more than 9 you might be putting yourself at greater risk of getting sick.
What the study did not look at was other reasons such as stress or diet when looking at Crohns and colitis, both of which can effect sleep as well.
If your family is prone to stomach problems such as these you might consider getting the right amount of sleep to help heal up your inflammation
