Walk with Your Friend and Reduce Depression
Posted by Dave Fuller on
A recent study of 2000 people in England has found that going for a walk with other people in nature may lower your stress levels and reduce your risk of depression. Researchers found that people who had recently experienced a high level of stress such as job loss, breakups, illness or death of a loved one or family member had a significant mood boost after walking in groups outdoors.
The researchers noted that group walks may be a great alternative to pharmaceutical approaches to treating depression with out the cost and with all of the benefits!
Maybe you should call up a friend today for a walk outside!
The study was published online recently in the journal Ecopsychology.
